MANCHESTER CHAMBER CONCERTS SOCIETY
In the 2017/18 season of MCCS we will see the return of Quatour Ebene and the Leipzig String Quartet as well as the first appearance of the renowned Kuss Quartet. The Gould Piano Trio are celebrating their 25th anniversary and have accordingly commissioned Mark Simpson to write a new piece for them. The Watkins brothers Paul and Huw have devised a fascinating programme of works written during the 1914-18 war and the Pixels Ensemble present a programme based around Debussy’s three late Sonatas. To open the season I have invited the Razumovsky Ensemble and Ruby Hughes to join me in a programme we presented at the Wigmore Hall, as I enjoyed it so much! Over the season as a whole 15 works written in the Twentieth Century (plus the Mark Simpson new work) will be performed, which I’m thinking must be a record for our august society!
